If you leave WiFi and Bluetooth on all the time do they use battery when not connected?

What I mean is if I leave my house with WiFi does it keep searching all the time to connect to another WiFi spot? This would use battery wouldnt it?

Also Bluetooth, I use it in my car, but when not connected does it search all the time and waste battery? It seems to as in the BT settings the spinny wheel seems to be searching.

What do people do please? Its an iPhone 4 with 4.3.3 on.

Cheers

I leave it all on as i use bluetooth to stream music to my car and take callas and obviously wifi when I'm at home. Battery lasts all day so Im not fussed.

I have both turned off all the time as well. I only use 3G but I guess it is better to use wifi when available.

Yes I use BT for music streaming and calls in car, and it's a bit of hassle keep switching on and off as they are buried in menus. I've had a go of mates Android an there's a quick menu for BT and WiFi and GPS, wish iOS had something like this

No point in turning anything off. I leave everything on and my battery lasts two days easy. Overnight battery drain is only 1 to 2 percent. Why fool with it?

I hardly ever use the bluetooth on the iPhone so thatnis always off.

Wifi is on when I known there's a guaranteed connection but is always off when I'm out

This. I use BT in my car and WiFI a lot, so why turn them off? SBSettings does make it easier but it's just not worth the hassle of turning them on and off since I don't notice the battery drain.

I keep my wifi on all the time but never use bluetooth. I can make it through the day, without recharging.

I am at home a lot so I use Wi-Fi almost exclusively--far more than 3G. I never use Blue Tooth so I have that turned off--and I charge my phone at night so I never really have a battery problem.

Yes, they drain battery faster. Some people who are used to it may not see it drain faster, but I can deffinatly tell when I leave them on. I use sbsettings, so it's easy for me to turn them off, so I switch them on and off when needed.

I have bt and wifi on all the time
I notice no difference in battery life

Overnight I loose 2% max

Jailbreak and get SBsettings. You can toggle 3G, wifi, BT, screen brightness, location, and other things easily.

People are leaving 3G on and getting 1-2% drain overnight??

How the...? I'm on O2 (UK) if that makes any difference (wouldn't see how though)...
