Hi, I've upgraded recently to Tiger and I have a question regarding Spotlight.

I have an external HD which I use for a complete mirrored backup of my iBook. I do this on one of two partitions of the drive. As I don't have the drive connected most of the time and also because I don't want to get double results, I have excluded the mirror/backup partition in Spotlight.

Now it seems that I cannot do any searches in the OTHER partition which I use mostly for video files. (I've tried even explicitly selecting a folder in the Other locations dialogue.) It just doesn't give any results on the most simple searches.

I have deleted the exclusion from the backup partition and after a complete and long indexing process of the former excluded partition the search in the other partition worked. Having re-activated the exclusion of the backup partition the searches stopped working on the other partition.

I could accept that Spotlight isn't working on both partitions but no search at all???

Is there any possibility to do just a simple search on this second partition while Spotlight ignores the backup part?
