If&T and have them issue me a new MicroSIM?

I'm using my mom's upgrade for the iPhone 4. So the MicroSIM in the phone is going to have her number. If I call them, explain my situation, will they mail me a MicroSIM? Or do I have to go to the AT&T store the day my iPhone 4 arrives? I really want to avoid going to the store. They usually make things complicated.

I'm doing the same, the AT&T rep gave me her number and said call her as soon as it comes and she'll switch everything over.

When you're in the store they will attempt to activate the phone which will kill the sim card in your mom's phone. You will need to go to the AT&T store to get a new 'normal' sim for and a microSIM for yourself to use in the iphone 4.

This is what I was told when I called AT&T store last week because we're doing a similar phone-swap.
