As the topic states... if the rumors are true and the iPhone 8 due to manufacturing/supply were to be delayed for release to December 22 (2 months after predicted launch date) or Christmas... would you keep waiting for the iPhone 8 or would you settle on the iPhone 7S?
 
First of all, that's not happening. Second, I'm leaning towards getting a "7s Plus" anyway, regardless of release date. I can't/won't decide anything until the new lineup is actually revealed.
 
I wish I could actually edit the existing options or the question in the poll... assume the for the first two options, the one with the 7S means getting the 7S, the one with the 8 means waiting for the 8.
 
Was about to say, the yes and no seems mixed around in a lot of these haha. Ignoring that though, "I'll wait for the 8".
 
Apple is making a big mistake, they might as well hold off on the iPhone 8 until next year. People want (and are willing to pay) for THE BEST. They don't want to spend $650+ on a phone that will be obsolete in 2 months. 7S sales will be awful, iPhone sales will be awful until they launch the 8.

And to answer the question -- no, I'm not willing to get a 7S because the 8 is delayed 2 months. If they delay long enough, maybe I will be forced to buy both, but I'm not buying a phone that is guaranteed to be OBSOLETE in 2 months.

I agree. However those of us with 6's are looking to upgrade and the 7s might be for us until the bugs are worked out on the 8 or X or edition.

I don't think you know what the word "obsolete" means.

I will still wait for iPhone 8 even if it's delayed for two months. Getting iPhone 7S doesn't make sense to me. I need an all new design and most important OLED screen.

You need those things as much as I need a home button and TouchID, which is no say, you probably don't need them, you would just really like to have them. :p

I do think that the 8 will not be released on the 22nd. Apple are a shambles these days with logistics. A lot of people waited for months to get the 7 last year.
The AW2 took weeks for orders to arrive and as for the AirPods, 9 months since release and there is still a 1 to 2 week wait.
The 7s will release on the 22nd but I think that it will be October for the 8 and unless you are in the first batch of orders, you could be waiting until xmas.
 
I have a 7+ so going for a 7S+ when there's an 8 around the corner would be too expensive: I'd just crack and buy the 8. So, I'll wait. Really. I will.
 
I won't get both. I'll be waiting for the 2018 iPhone where all the manufacturing quirks have been ironed out.

I don't understand the compulsion to get whatever Apple released right away. Unless you literally don't have a phone at all, it's pure psychology.

You don't need an all new design, that's what you physically desire or want. What you actually need is a Phone that completes its main function with transmitting notifications and phone calls. Those are two different things with what someone wants and actually needs.

I think the first two options in the poll should be (Bold represents changes):

  1. Yes, I'll get the 7S
  2. Yes, I'll get the 7S AND I'll wait for the 8

I vote for a new poll? Clearly most will want to wait until the 8 is released. The 7s is not very popular...
 
I'm on the fence right now and can't really make up my mind...nothing new though...lol

I have the 6 Plus, had to install a new battery just last night after the one I had was starting to bulge. First time I did that on my own..not TOO bad, but success. Anyway. I skipped last year..wasn't thrilled enough to upgrade. The 8, yeah full screen is what I've (an so many others) have been waiting for. I'm not thrilled with the lack of Fingerprint ID getting ditched, now facial ID for this model. These reported delays for this 8, it concerns me a little. With the stock problems for these phones (thanks to Samsung) it also sounds like Apple is having trouble with this new screen..again like I said, they cant figure out how to add finger ID onto the OLED screens. I just worry about mass problems with this model. So right now I am a little weary of dropping BIG money on this any run into issues when this phone eventually comes out. I almost want to see them get it right..sadly if this takes another year, then ugh...so be it. Also maybe bu 2018..they can fire out how to get rid of that top "notch" on the 8. I know its nitpicking..from a design point it just bugs me.

7S Plus - as of right now might be a nice option for me. I can deal with 64GB. My 6 Plus is 64GB and I still have plenty of space! BUT I really do wish they added the full screen using the LCD screen to these though!

I'll decide after Tuesday.
