If the Same Price - MBA M2 or MBP M2 13"?

Hello guys. I was in the mall to check the iPhone 14. Cousin decided to go with me and saw the MBA M2. He fell in love with it and decided he will get it by next month before he travels, since his current laptop is too bulky for traveling.

The thing is, the local Apple Store do not have MBA M2 in stock(just display). And they said there is a long waiting list, I guess cuz it is the latest thing. They have the MBP 13" M2 though.

We checked other computer shops, they have the MBA M2, BUT more expensive than retail price. $100 more- so basically same price as the MBP M2. Cousin really wanted the MBA but the wait might be long, and he wants a new laptop before he travels.

His dilemma now that since both are the same price, should he get the MBA or go for the MBP? He said he wants the new design of the MBA but at the same time, same price- MBP is more powerful. What would you guys advice cuz I dont know myself.

I’d go for the MacBook Air M2.

It has MagSafe, a larger display, a better webcam, physical function keys, weighs less, has a more compact design, thinner bezels, and supports fast charging.

I definitely recommend to go with the MacBook Air, except if you expect to need the thermal fan of the MBP. Otherwise, the MBA is better in almost every single way

If you need the thermal fan, then you should be going for the MBP 14” or 16”
