I have a Late 2013 iMac maxed out. It runs PERFECTLY, I use PS, LR, etc. I am thinking of adding a 5K iMac for dual monitors. Is this stupid? Any suggestions from the experienced? Any comments or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

one thing to keep in mind is that the retina imac cannot function as an external monitor.

You can use the 2013 as a display for the 5K, but not the other way around since the Retina iMac does not support Target Display Mode (and the 2013 doesn't support outputting 5K at 60 Hz either). If you plan to do this the 5K will have to be your main or independent.
