Oh yeah...just great.

Nothing I want more than to have to keep turning my phone over all the time.

So convenient.

Yup..I'd rush right out and buy that!
 
No sense of ergonomics.

No practical UI.

Completely ignores the realities of trying to hold a device that responds to touch inputs on every square inch of its body.

Annoying europop soundtrack.

Yup. Typical fanboy rendering.

I'm sure it would make Android fans drool if the next Samsung Galaxy S model was like this, though.

By the way: isn't the whole point of a panorama to see the whole picture at once? Having half the photo on a side you can't see is no more useful than... well, not displaying that part of the picture at all.

Apple comes up with patents for designs all the time... many of which they never actually use.

In any case, if Apple does come up with a wraparound display, I'm pretty sure it'll be in a less awkward form factor.
 
I believe the wraparound display patent filling is intended for the rumored iWatch.

On a phone, I would not run out and buy one, as usual for me, I'd wait for u bleeding edge people to give it the spin first. At first look I say I don't want to be turning around a phone, will increase the chance of me dropping the dang thing, it's already slick as is.

NO LOVE at first sight.


However, if they ever made a phone like a display on AVATAR, a see-thru screen when off, I WILL BUY THAT. :)
 
seriously - when exactly did people come to idea that bent screens on phones are great/useful/awesome/whatever? Its completely useless, inconvenient and in no way better than a flat screen.
 
I would not. It is ugly and the iPhone'ness seems to be gone. Having things being displayed at the side really sucks. And this is an impractical immature design too (in my opinion)
 
The only thing at all good about this is the lack of a home button and small bezels. Other than that looks awful.

I would never buy this though. The thought of flipping my phone over is just awful.
