I need to use a Windows software on my iBook so I am getting a license for Windows 98SE.

When I install both VirtualPC and Win98SE, would I need to get the latest patch and updates for the Windows OS? Would I also need an antivirus program and a firewall program? I am going online with the new software.

I feel secure on Mac but not on Windows.

Well, just remember nothing that happens on Windows in VPC can in any way affect your Mac. VPC is completely isolated from you Mac. That said, I would highly recommend downloading all the Windows updates, as they do make things generally run smoother, and provide safety in terms of OS vulnerabilities. Don't worry about firewall software though, as long as your Mac's firewall is on, and you have VPC's networking setup for Shared Networking, Windows will be protected by your Mac's firewall. I probably wouldn't bother with anti-virus software. Just be careful opening email attachments, if you use email on the Windows OS at all.
