If you are getting smartcovers, get the OFFICIAL ones

There are a ton of knock offs online even in colors apple don't provide which may entice you to get one. But many have said the magnets don't hold, the covers fall off, etc. if you are spending $500+ on these iPads I hope you wouldn't use an cheap knockoff to cover it. Just pay the $$$

This black one is $32. I wouldn't buy from the China sellers but there are still sellers in the US that sell pretty cheap. Does Amazon protect you at all?

I've bought several knock-off ones, the magnets hold fine, and sleep/wake works perfectly. Both were purchased for less than half of the price of an Apple smart cover.

I've spent enough on the gadget, I'm not about to hand forty quid to Apple for a cloth with magnets in it.
