And it also only matters if you want a 15 inch instead of keeping it more compact for travel/everyday carry. That is a much bigger factor for me than the price difference.Matters only if person has the funds to "upgrade" from 13" M2 to 15" model.
Those on tight budget shouldnt, unless with 15" model they can get away with not buying external display and thus putting money intended for external monitor towards upgraded 15" Air.
Agree, tho OP seems to be talking only about price difference and nothing else. And it also only matters if you want a 15 inch instead of keeping it more compact for travel/everyday carry. That is a much bigger factor for me than the price difference.
I don't get the point of this. It's trivial to bump up the specs of the 13" to cost as much or more than the base 15".
The GPU cores of the M2 are sufficient for 99% use case for the MBA 15".What does the GPU do for someone who just web browses, YouTube - ie. no specialist work? Does it come into play at all with this kind of usage?
Does the 8 or 10 gpu matter for the use case outlined? Also, sorry, didn't meant to hijack the thread. The GPU cores of the M2 are sufficient for 99% use case for the MBA 15".
Those who complain want the GPU performance of a 4090 that cost $1599 just for the dGPU card + 450W of power just for the part.
Inside a $1299 15" laptop that sips 35W-70W of power.
The assumption being that everyone from their baby sib to their 100+yo nan are playing video games.
For people who did not know what a GPU was it is likely the 8 GPU core is sufficient for what they want to do. This isn't meant to be a disparaging remark but their use cases would be MS Office, email, browsing, casual gaming, FaceTime, iMessage, etc.Does the 8 or 10 gpu matter for the use case outlined?
