What would you choose it to be? Could you sacrifice one-hand-usability? Would you leave it how it is? Make it slightly smaller? State your opinion on the poll!

I chose 3.5% because I like the size and form factor. If they can go wall to wall with the 4" and not make it wide or much thicker I might dig that.

With the Droid RAZR or Rezound (and you name it with various 4" screen Android phones) they are either a bit thicker or wider. I don't care for that.

I love the form factor/size of my 4S and if they can keep that, or VERY close, I'd dig a 4" screen.

I checked out the Droid RAZR (4.3") and it felt a tad awkward in my hand...but sometimes 3.5" feels a little small.

I think 4" is the sweet spot.

I would have chosen 3.75 for myself, but in choosing a single model, 3.5 is the absolute maximum. Too many people's hands are small enough that 3.5 is almost too big already.

No options between 3.5 and 4.0?

I'd have a really hard time deciding between 3.5 and 3.7. Except, I guess it's easy for me now since only one of those is a choice here.

I voted 3.5".
If they can make it a bit larger without affecting any of the physical dimensions of iPhone, they should go for it.
If it means a little thicker, longer, wider or less battery life, then forget it.

No offense, but smartphones haven't been "one-handed" devices since well before the iPhone. So all this "it won't work one handed if you make the screen bigger" is just a made up excuse.

I don't know if you speak for yourself only, but i'm using my iPhone most of the time with one hand only, so does my friends.

I would choose the biggest screen possible without the sacrifice in battery life and loosing one hand usability as that is important for me.

4 inch if they keep the 3:2 aspect ratio they are currently using.
If they change resolution (to a 16:9 resolution), than a 4.3" display (because the a 4" 3:2 display would be just as wide as 4.3" 16:9 display).

So 4.3" at 16:9.
4" at 3:2.

So do a lot of Android users. MOST operations can be done with one hand whether it's a 3.5 or 4.0 screen. But one handed usage didn't become deemed an "iPhone exclusive feature" until the 4S caused users to act as if 4" screens crippled the user experience.

My bet is that if a 4" iphone comes out next gen then all the 3.5" iPhone advocates will still be able to operate their phones just fine and they'll realize that a bigger screen doesnt mean less ease of use.

You might be able to have a 4 inch screen without changing the form factor.

Yes, I will -- because in that case I'll be keeping my 4S. Unless they can maintain roughly the same size I will not purchase a 4" phone, iPhone or not.

Well, if 4" is still to be able to use one hand only, then 4" would be my choice, simple as that. If i could use a 4.5" on one hand, then that would be the choice etc..

3.5 is perfect to me. I think the iPhone 4/4s is the best looking handset ever made.
This.

I upgraded from 4 to 4s because I feel they'll go bigger with the 5, so I wanted to future-proof against another upgrade for at least the next two generations.

an edge-2-edge screen won't look as good either IMO.

My thoughts exactly. I would be fine with a 4" screen as long as they didn't make the phone a brick. I really do like the current screen size since I don't have huge fingers and navigating apps and typing is very simply for me. But I wouldn't be against a 4" screen.

I think 4" would be perfect. Anything bigger would be ridiculous! People who voted 5.3" should just get a 3G iPad and use a VOIP software.
