If you could add any 1 feature to os x, be it the way something looks or the way something operates or a completely new idea, what would it be?

I have quite a few ideas but, keeping to the rule of 1 - Drag and drop to move the items in menus around.

An option to delete a file immediately without it going into the trash can first. I know you can do it from terminal with rm, but something like shift-cmd-backspace to delete a file immediately would be great

Why not just make this an option in System Preferences so both sides of the fence are happy?

NOOOOOO! This is apple, choice is BAD!!!!!
I would like a "restore" function in the trash. The fanboys will go against me on that because its a windows feature and god knows we cant have any of the same features of windows, regardless of how useful they are...

I would like better theme support, but as mentioned earlier, we are lucky to have the choice between blue and gray.

Paths in the finder, that I can actually 1) See, 2) Edit. I don't care if it's a "windows thing," I need it.

Also, being able to navigate folders in the finder would be good without jumping through hoops, how about return = rename and enter = enter. Nope, can't have that can we?

Quicktime to have MKV support and WMV protected support as well as its own protected format that is open for lease to content providers.

More consistent and toned down UI much like iTunes.

More consistent Finder behavior and it to be more integrated with Spotlight.

Overhaul of the OpenGL system used in OSX and work on the drivers.

A program for building Ruby on Rails with sproutcore applications like one would with Interface builder and Xcode to make these types of internet applications very rapid to develop on something much more developer friendly than Dreamweaver.

Stacks to be more like the original concept.

Deeper integration of a X windowing system and better integration of ported linux applications. KDE applications are designed to work with separated tool bars like OSX so that makes a great number of open source applications Aqua viable.

More support for Darwin, perhaps give it a basic UI and push it as the open and free version of Mac OS with support for Mac OS X applications but not the pretty GUI something much more Win 95'ish. This would be great for gaining OSX development and it could even include Xcode to push it.
Would be spot on for emerging markets having something that is free and open, able to run commercial applications and also develop these applications that are able to run on the full OSX.

Blu Ray would be nice but not a must.

Lower resource usage and more stability.

A "i win button" that makes all of my projects finished.

I would like Apple to add to OS X a feature whereas if you connect an external HDD or flash drive and delete files it doesn't require you to empty the Trash in order to be deleted off the external drive. I can live (obviously I have) with the way it is but it would be nice to have this functionality.

Paths are in the Finder. You have to go to View in the menu bar and select Show Path Bar.

Lemmee guess, that's not what you mean?

I want to just have a simple text box like windows does. That's helpful but I can't do anything but go back on an already defined path.

An option to customize the look of your OSX. Like setting colors for windows, fonts, and alternative symbols.

I want more options to personalize my Mac-experience. And dynamic backgrounds would not hurt. If anyone here has a PS3, you know what I'm talking about.

Slow moving waterfalls or digital waves moving would create a much more modern look to it all.

Resolution independence. With as much screen time as I get, anything that makes things easier on my eyes is great. Then we just need mental typing to deal with the RSI...
