Just make sure you have all your contacts on your mac/pc BEFORE you tell iphone to sync with mobileme. Ie. Sync iphone to address book / outlook ... then sync addressbook/outlook with mobileme ... then do iphone last.

The source of info for mobileme is the computer initially. When you turn on mobileme on the phone it OVERWRITES all the info with cloud data.
