This guy wants to sell me his phone from T-Mobile, but he plans on stop paying his bill overall. If im right he is on that $27 a month for 20 month thing they have going on so its like a contract to say.

my question is will T-mobile blacklist the imei? I know if this was an att account& phone they would not blacklist the imei but verizon or sprint will.

Not sure but it seems like too big a chance to take. I'd recommend a different seller. What's to stop that guy from claiming lost/stolen on his insurance? He may be telling you one thing while planning on something else. You can't trust people who lie, cheat, and steal. Seems that guy is doing all three.

the phone will be blacklisted unless he pays the remaining balance. which i assume he won't.

"This guy" is not a guy I'd buy from. They will indeed blacklist the IMEI.

"A guy" stories are like "hold my beer" stories, they never really work out well.

Trust me I've had PLENTY of hold my beer stories!

I work for t-mobile, and yes we do blacklist imei's for EIP none payments. it takes about a month but it will eventually be blacklisted!

I've heard that they will indeed blacklist. I recently just sold a couple of that are still on EIP, but I have 3 lines w/ T-Mo that I have to keep so they will still be paid on.

Hmm...I was on someone's line that had stopped paying and my phone never got blacklisted. Months and months went by, swapping SIM cards (Tmobile pre-pay cards) in it before finally getting a Sprint phone.

Is there a place to see if an IMEI finally got blacklisted?

I'd imagine you could call t-mobile customer support and ask if a IMEI is available to be activated.

http://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx

It shows if imei is blacklisted or if there is a balance still to be paid

I have a question,
I also have 2 phones on the payment plan with tmobile. I recently switched to cricket with those two phones and the tmobile rep gave me my sim unlock codes even though they are not paid off. I want to pay the monthly payments to pay the phones off, i just don't want tmobile. Is there a way to pay the payments and not have service . I don't want my phone black listed.

Call them. They will give you a balance to pay the phone off.
