now that i think of it, why aren't iPhones priced lower than they are. an iPad has to be more expensive to build right? just because of contracts?

Some of the price difference comes from the GSM/CDMA radio. Another part is due to the fact that the iPhone has to use smaller, more expensive components. Mainly it's just because Apple wants to make more money on the iPhone.

If I had to choose I'd give my iPad back. It's a consumption device for me. My iPhone is more important to me.

Overall the iPad is more expensive to manufacture. Supply and mostly demand is the reason for the price difference.

This is a tough question, i own tons of apple products and love them all equally. I think I would give up my iPhone because i cant imagine going back to using my slow computer instead of my ipad. I however just got my iphone so it is tough to answer. But then again, i only really use my iphone for calling and texting because my ipad is for web browsing and iPod nano is for music and my iPod touch is for gaming so...losing my iphone for a basic phone may be possible. GOOD THING THIS ISNT REAL BECAUSE I WOULDNT WANT TO GIVE UP ANY APPLE PRODUCTS.

The iPhone goes with me everywhere and I use it at all times of the day for various things. The iPad I can easily do without and just use my MBP instead if I have to.

Doesnt the ipod touch basically use the same components? Or an ipad mini with cellular data?
