If you have a glitch--need to start w/ SL reinstall, or Lion clean install?

Hi, all,

I've a software question that may pre-exist the installation of Lion. The installation of Lion, however, may have triggered the problematic software. (I did it as an upgrade.) Do I need to do a clean install of Lion or start with reinstalling SL?

(I did copy the installer but I'm getting an invalid checksum error in Disc Utility, so I'm going to have to figure out a way to download it again. Arrrrghh!)

Thanks for any thoughts you can provide,
