I am stuck on what to do with buying my new iPad on friday.... I have been convinced that with my traveling and driving I would really perfer to have the 3G version but now that "Hotspot" is available for iPhone and I always have my iPhone on me do I really need the 3G on my iPad or can I just use the iPhone and share the connection with my iPad???

Thanks for the help!

Note:

1) if you have the grandfathered "unlimited" iPhone data plan and enroll for the hotspot feature you will lose your unlimited plan forever.

2) Using the hotspot will drain your iPhone battery faster so if you intend to use the hotspot for a long period of time be aware.

3) $ wise there is no real advantage unless you need to feed data to multiple devices at once. Otherwise, IMHO, you are better off getting 3G and using it when needed and not having to worry about killing your phone's battery.
