Then, please hit "Apps" and tell me what "Essential Applications" you currently have running. Like, on my 1st gen iPhone right now, Phone, Mail, Safari, and iPod are all active. Hopefully, the bunch of you who have NOT restarted your phones since last Fri (I want to see how memory usage stands up with time, and don't want the RAM to be cleared, as it is in phone restarts) would have used it excessively since then so we can get a more accurate picture of RAM usage.

Also, have ANY OF YOU with iPhone 3GS' noticed any of the ANNOYING keyboard lag some of us 1st and 2nd gen iPhone users get from time to time? I mean, have you noticed it at ANY point in time....? Please be honest. Thanks.

I have noticed some intermitant keyboard lag. Its like it freezes for 3-5 seconds then spits everything out that I was typing. Its actually freezes the whole unit, not just the keyboard.

Wow...That is downright sad. I was really hoping with the 3GS that they had unequivocally solved that. I guess keyboard lag is one area in which the iPhone can never compare to a phone with a hard keyboard...

True, but it's only since the 3.0 update that this has got really bad, for me at least.

3.0 update? The 3GS has never had anything on it but 3.0.

Here's mine (like this app, BTW, never seen it before, thanks)

The only time I really get bad lag (3g) is when it's fetching mail. If I'm doing something and it lags out I know I have new mail.

So wait...Your 3GS gets keyboard lag too? Seriously? And the lag of keyboard lack was one reason I really wanted to pick up a 3GS....

I had some keyboard lag at times on 2.x with my 2G iPhone.

New 3GS, no restarts, no lag at all, just as fast as it was a week ago.

Just something I've noticed... Since updating to 3.0, I've been using Safari a fair bit. Today, I haven't used it at all (I'd rebooted my phone last night) and it's been totally fast today. I think Safari might be the cause.

it has always been the cause of most lag on the iphone.. when your done with safari, close all of the open pages and leave a blank page (this will cause it to NOT run in the background) and your phone will run so much better (don't know about the 3GS though.. it might run fine even with safari in the bg)

I have only owned an iPhone since last Friday, and I haven't experienced any keyboard lag.

Here are my stats (notice the 3G coverage I have here... it's so fast):

Never said that. I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever.
