Just wanted to "correct" something the Concussion Foundation put out. Contrary to what they say, you do need medical help, BUT you don't need to find a specialist's clinic. Just go to the local emergency room. The doctor will know how to diagnose and treat the condition.

It's a no brainer. I've heard of people slipping on a banana on other slipper substance and hitting their head on the floor. Even ever so lightly. Just a light love tap. Then they begin feeling ill; throwing up, constantly hungry, shivering, etc. Doesn't take much to jostle the brain.

Agreed.

Yes, it makes sense to attend immediately to anything to do with the head.

My son, 15 now, is a running back and has played football since pee wee. Before he even started we had
a concussion baseline done at Ben Hogan Sports Medicine, free. So we now know if it were to ever happen
to him, if and how bad it was. Most high schools here are now doing it as a freshmen, but sooner is better
if your child will be playing contact sports, or really sports period. Under the care guidelines, the do not's
are very important! Even before you can seek treatment.
