Yes... this is the tap-to-focus feature since the 3GS. Having it auto everything is convenient but I agree some manual controls would be nice. Sometimes the whole image is dark and the only way to make it brighter is to tap on a random dark area. The only problem with that is that the focus of the lens is on a random dark area.

these cameras really arent anything more than novelties. If you need more functionality on a camera than what the iphone has, you need a point and shoot or dslr.
