How to Change Carrier Name:

What you need to do:
1. SSH into your iDevice
2. Go to \system\library\springboard.app
3. find N72AP.plist
4. Make a backup of it
5. open it
6. find the following key: devicename, iPod
7. replace iPod to anything you want.
8. Save the file and upload
9. respring
10. Now it's changed!!!
Also, the Mail signature is changed, go into settings.app and change it.

I didn't use this method. I used FakeCarrier. Hope it helps.

Try FakeCarrier from Cydia. It should work for 4.2.1

fakecarrier is by far the easiest way to accomplish this... i have it on my 4.2.1 iphone 4 and it works great!

Thanks! I used Fake Operator and changed the carrier name. Still trying to figure how to change the banner. Any ideas?
