do you think apple self sell it to ifixit.com? i can't imagine this

Why would this be difficult to imagine?

Authorized non-Apple Service Providers clearly exist: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1434
They could not function if they could not get parts from Apple.
Therefore, there must be a way for non-Apple entities to get Apple parts.

Does this prove that ifixit uses Apple OEM parts purchased from Apple (vs buying "third shift" parts from Apple' suppliers)? Of course not. The point is that it is possible, thus not difficult to imagine.

I use a local guy in the UK to fix our company 3GS's the engineers have a habit of damaging and he told me you are unable to buy the original apple parts, but you can buy the OEM parts, so a replacement part made by the manufacturer of the original part.

Only authorized Apple service centers use real parts. Everything else is an aftermarket copy - and these are NOT made by the same companies who make the parts for Apple. They are very strict with their suppliers, often having full time Apple employees on staff to both monitor quality and make sure this distribution of parts outside Apple's supply chain does not happen.

In other words OEM = just as good as the original parts...
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer..
