Excellent app for anyone interested in News, Results, Live Updates, Fixtures etc for their team. Free from the app store.

It is a great little app. I posted a note about it in the football discussion thread (come and join in). I think it is a great start and look forward to having some extra features added but so far 5*. :)

Bummer that it is not in the US store then again this is ongoing challenge for the best sport in the world.

We'll probably get an iFootsie for MLS (ugh).

An update for this is now available which adds points, goal difference and number of games played to the tables.

Glad this update is here.

Was chatting with the dev the other day and he said this was with Apple. Great App and the dev is a great guy.

Next time you speak to him could you ask him if he plans to launch it in the US App Store? At least one relocated Brit would love to be able to get it. :)

iFooty in US iTunes

The dev said his main worry was that releasing the app on the US App store would hurt the app ratings because American Football fans would be disappointed when expecting to see an app for their sport and seeing instead an app for soccer. You can be sure he's trying to solve that problem.

I got in touch with the dev asking about the possibility of an iRugby app, with similar features.

He never emailed back sadly.

I'd say as long as the icon specifically looked like a Football/Soccer icon it'd be okay :D

I don't even want to know how many emails he gets every day. I'm sure he reads most of them, but I doubt he can respond to them all. Keep in mind this is a guy who's doing this on his free time, for fun and because he's a big soccer fan. He doesn't happen to be a big rugby fan.

Also, even though to you it might sound like a very similar app in terms of features and functionality, to a developer they would be two different apps with very little in common except maybe the user interface. That means a whole lot of extra work.

My post wasn't meant to be taken like an "OMGZZZ I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT **** DIDN@T EMAIL BACK!!!111" - it was just a standard message, I think it's a shame he didn't manage to discuss my request, as I think such an app would do very well indeed, especially since it'd use the existing framework.

Of course it would still entail a lot of work, it was just a thought really. Who knows, if he's a rugby fan or not.
