Ignore Win-HD in OSX?

searching for solutions to my nervestretching boot/shutdown times
with leopard i found that unmounting the windows-partition decreases
shutdown by 15 sec. in osx theres no need for the windows-hd to be active,
so my question is: how can i configure osx to ignore that partition completely?

As of yet, I haven't found a way... the only solution I've been using is to just right-click, eject whenever I boot.

I hate the icon too, unnecessary and hurts the zen of my pure desktop!
