iHome problem (phone turns off)

Hi,
I just got an iHome and put my phone on it overnight to use the alarm function. The alarm went off in the morning but when I took my phone off the iHOme the apple appeared and it shut off. I cant get it to turn on now. As soon as I try the apple logo appears for a few seconds and thats it. I tried chargin it too but get the same result. Please help !

I held down the home button and connected it to pc. had to restore my phone with itunes.

Any idea why that happened? I am scared to dock it to ihome now
