I have an iHome wireless mouse from Big Lots (looks like a magic mouse) for $15. It has a USB dongle but does not work no matter what I do. I repaired disk permissions, restarted my computer, turned on Bluetooth discoverable, did everything possible. When I plug it in, it seems like it doesn't even register. I changed USB ports and tried again but nothing happens.
It works perfectly on my friend's notebook running Windows 7. The packaging says it's compatible with Windows 7 and "Mac".
Is there anything else I can try? Please help.
EDIT: I am running Mountain Lion on a Late 2011 MacBook Pro.
