Earlier this month, IKEA debuted a tiny NFC-enabled bed that's meant to help smartphone users cut down on nighttime usage. The small "Phone Sleep Collection" is modeled after an actual IKEA bed, and it uses the IKEA app to monitor scroll-free sleep time.

Users who hit seven hours of scroll-free time for a week straight are eligible for an IKEA voucher.
Every phone bed comes with built-in NFC tech, making sleep effortlessly rewarding. Here's how it works:
- Download the IKEA UAE app.
- (For iOS users) When prompted, allow Motion & Fitness tracking.
- Place your phone on its bed and tap the notification to open the app.
- That's it. Your sleep time will track in the background (no counter will appear).
- Complete seven nights of seven-hour sleep, and earn your voucher.
Unfortunately, the tiny bed is only available in the United Arab Emirates, and it is a promotional item that IKEA is giving out when customers spend AED 750 or more in-person in IKEA, as long as the purchase includes an item from the company's Complete Sleep Collection.

IKEA's promotion has garnered quite a bit of attention, so it's possible that the company will expand the promotion to additional countries.

Or, just put it on a table or shelf in the hallway instead of next to your bed. In winter especially, the cold nights are discourage, ent to get up and retrieve it.

These flat chargers do not work very well with my iPhone 17 Pro in an elago case. The combination of the very tall camera plateau and lenses, plus the added 1-2 mm height from the lip around the camera cutout on the case raises the phone too far away from the actual charger. It was a problem on my wife's 14 Pro Max too, but it seems worse on the 17 series.

In my 2025 Camry with the iPhone 17 Pro on the included flat charger, if I'm using CarPlay Spotify and Maps navigation at the same time, the iPhone basically just maintains charge.

With my old iPhone 12 Pro Max which had a much shallower camera plateau, it would charge reasonably fast under the same usage.

Compare the 12 Pro height vs. the 17 Pro:

Re: My previous post. I was assuming it includes a charger, but the video doesn't actually say that.

I don't get how it works , anyone mind explaining it to me, how does it track actual sleep?

Ahh that little bed is genius!. But you can always pout the phone to bed and then just use your iPad for doom scrolling lol. Sadly with no charger built in it kinda lose its appeal, as most people put their phones on charge at night.

What does an Ikea voucher get you? (or did I miss that.)
Also - isn’t it a little early for the April Fools stuff?

God, this image makes me appreciate the 5/5S/SE design even more. Absolute master class in design. Been downhill ever since.
Nope. Notice how the 6 was thinner except a tiny camera bump that disappeared in a case, making it thinner and easier on the hands than the angular 5.

The 6-8 were the best designs.

But even my 12Pro was flat in a case.

My 15Pro, not so much.

And the 17 Pro is obnoxiously fat in the lens area. The Air is also too fat in the lens area which just makes the thin claim in the ads look stupid.
