Wow.

OK, I used to use iKlear back in the 3GS days and I ran out around the time the iPhone 4S was released but I never bought another bottle. I didn’t feel like buying another expensive kit from the Apple store.

Around the iPhone 6, I missed having a clean iPhone and gadgets lol so I made my own homemade spray with distilled water and a drop or two of liquid soap in a spray bottle. Worked just as good.... or so I thought.

I hadn’t used iKlear in forever and I said screw it and ordered just the 8oz bottle off Amazon.

Well, it turns out there is a massive difference between my homemade solution and iKlear, or just cleaning it with only a microfiber. My iPhone and MacBook are shiny as hell, VERY CLEAN and super slick (not slippery!). It almost feels like the oleophobic coating is super charged. I forgot this stuff leaves almost like a micro level coating on electronics.

If you use your iPhone without a case I highly recommend this stuff! I completely forgot how clean and fingerprint-less this stuff makes Apple products feel. :) If you do use a case, it will help clean it too, screen protectors and everything else (minus the leather cases I think).

Does anyone still use this stuff? I forgot how amazing it was lol.

Really? why is that? I feel like it's a better time to use liquid cleaners due to iPhones now being so water resistant. I still spray it on a microfiber first to clean the entire phone

I just bought 3 or 4 must spray bottles for 75p each from a local supermarket and I just fill them with water and use that in my phone, cases and glasses with a microfibre cloth.

Especially with screens and glasses I feel these cleaning products break down the coating they are given in production.

I did the same but you have to use distilled water if you want to use it as a cleaner since even filtered water has minerals that can possibly leave a film or streaks or maybe even scratch somehow. The best combo for homemade cleaners is distilled water + one or two drops inside the bottle of unscented dish soap to break down fingerprints to be easily wiped off (and safe for the coating).

iKlear is actually safe on oleophobic coatings of the iPhone. I used it back during the 3GS/4S days and my coatings were still good! It's just that iKlear leaves a smooth slick coating on the entire phone which makes fingerprints even easier to wipe off and keeps the phone looking crystal clear when you pull it out of your pocket.

its actually up to each persons personal preferance.i know my iPhone 12 PM is IP68 but i wont even let a drop of water touch it. and if a drop of water gets in between the phone and case its gonna drive me nuts. and i do have this ZEISS gadget liquid which is supposed to be sprayed on to the ZEISS cloth then to the phone but after buying it i dont use it because the cloth might leave fabric on the phone.whereas the Ringke Pre Moistened wipes really leave nothing other than a shiny phone. :D
