I am planning on upgrading my MacBook(10.4.9, iLife '06) to Leopard, via an erase and install, but does Leopard include iLife '08? Or do I need to do a clean install of Tiger, then upgrade to Leopard, in order to keep iLife '06? I'd rather have iLife '08, but I don't want to lose iLife '06, and have nothing.

iLife is not supplied with OS X (any version except the software restore disks provided with a new Mac).

You can, however, install iLife from your software restore disk without having to install Tiger as well - just insert the disk and look for 'install bundled software' or something like it.
