If I get a MBP now and then upgrade to Leopard in Oct. will I be able to use the intall/restore DVD's that come with the MBP to reinstall the ilife 06 components? Thanks

If you upgrade to leopard all your applications will remain intact. The only way your apps will get removed is if you do an erase and install. If you do do an erase and install you should be able to reinstall the iLife apps from your Tiger disk.

well I would be doing an erase and install. I have had better luck with that than "upgrading". I see the change in drive format as an excellent reason to do a fresh install. I just dont have access to any of my old install dvd's to see if it is possible to just install iLife.

Which change in drive format? Do you mean ZFS? Apparently it is going to be an optional format for non-bootable drives if at all.
