ilife 08 and leopard os x 10.5._ registration?

Is there any registration with Apple that would give me an issue if I bought a "used" copy of either ilife 08 and leopard os x10.5_ (some advertise .2 or .4 so I assume there is a downloadable patch) from someone on ebay?

I do not want to save a few bucks only to find out it will not work and/or updates will not work.

There shouldn't be a problem. Apple doesn't have serial numbers (at least not the same way Windows does), all the Apple Registration does is put you on the mailing list, and registers you for Apple Care support.

Thanks. I was thinking it was like Windows matching serial number to hardware and I would be stuck with someones old copy and unable to load it.
