iLife '08 Problem

So i purchased iLife '08 from a website called "cheapestsoftwareanywhere.com

once I received it, I inserted it into my CD/DVD drive and closed the drive, and the disc never appeared on my desktop as it usually does with ALL other discs (CD and DVD's). I have a Power PC G5, Dual 1.8 GHz, Memoery is 768 MB, with OS X 10.5.4

I am able to read all other DVD's, movies, other software like photoshop, illiustrator, etc.

Anyone else have this problem?
 
geee thanks for that. Like I dont already think that. I have already complained to them, and so what did they do, they sent me another disc, and the same thing happens, which is, NOTHING.

On their site, is clearly states MONEY BACK GUARANTEE, and yet they are not holding up to their end of that statement.
 
Well since you already know the answer to your problem ( buying from places described in this article among many, many others: http://www.hoax-slayer.com/cheap-software-spam.html ) and they are not standing behind their promises I really don't know what anyone can do to help I am sorry to say. :(

iLife has a very straight-forward installation process and at least if you got a bad disk (which of course can happen) from a legitimate distributor you could call them and get a replacement. Guess in this case you will have to wind up writing the cost off to a lesson learned- but it is a major pisser that they wind up keeping your money! :mad:

Now understand I am not piling on about this because I really do feel bad that people get ripped off by these clowns that have the nerve to say it is legal software, but after reading some of the stuff on their site, I just wonder what would lead a person to think that this was legitimate with answers in their FAQs like the section quoted below, or it is just the draw of saving money so people pretend (or wish) it is legit? I mean come on- Adobe CS3 Design Premium Edition which retails for $1800 selling for $174.00 with no packaging (as they mention in their FAQ section too) and a keygen produced registration code? Anyway again I am sorry this happened to you! :(

Please do not contact the manufacturer for install issues, we provide the support for all install problems. Also if you need to register the software do it thru the program itself after it is installed, do not register thru the internet or phone as the product you just purchased is OEM and must be registered thru the software. If you have any other problems, let us know and if we feel it nesessary we will refer you to the manufacturer, since we sold you the software, we are your source of contact-not the manufacturer, Thanks!!"
 
yeah well I got screwed. This damn company sent me yet a 3rd disc and surprise surprise, it doesnt work either.

Just a little warning to people out there. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM a website called www.cheapestsoftwareanywhere.com

They are a total fraud, and will basically screw you for your money, and play games with you.

What I dont understand, is that they actually spent the time and money to send me 3 discs. That had to have cost them money, cause they were all shipped First Class. So for my $30 software that i ordered, they had to have spent at least half that in sending me discs 3 separate times.
 
If the discs were blank, at least you got a couple free cds. ;)

Seriously, can you tell from looking at the disc if there's anything at all written on it?
 
Yeah the discs were burned with something. What happens is when I put the disc in my dive, nothing appears on my desk top.

However, I already purchased the legit iLife from Amazon, in the full package and everything, and it worked just fine.
 
Well as I said before I am really sorry to hear that for you- it just boils my blood that these guys still get away with this and still have your money when all is said and done-- especially since you mentioned earlier that they won't honor the money back that they adverstise on the site!! :mad:

On the other hand I'm just glad it wasn't more money- and that you have everything working ok with a legit disk! :)
 
FYI - I did eventually get my money back - I will not allow these companies to screw me over!!!!

But now I want iLife 09 - cause iMovie 08 has NO good features or effects. Sucks big time
