ive had ilife 09 trial on my mac for 6 days now, but today i got iwork 09 BOX and the problem is, i can't use it, because it requests serial code which i don't have. any ideas?
i've deleted all iWork 09 trial files, all documents related to iWork but it still wants serial code after reinstall. all apps (keynote, numbers, pages) do the same and all of them are installed. what to do?

You mean the the iWork trial. It looks as though you are still missing some files. You might just want to re-down the trial, install it, then use app zapper to uninstall it, then reinstall the full version.

Either than or scour your library files for anything iWork related. I don't know were the registration file is located.

yes, i ment iWork 09 trial.

so, i deleted ALL iwork files on my computer and then reinstalled BOX version but it keeps asking for serial...

and as far as i konw (apple confirms) iWork 09 doesn't have serial number if you buy BOX edition.

this is what box looks like:

Pity you deleted it as you could have just put the boxed disk into the drive and the iWork'09 trial would have been registered.

Now looking for bits left over to delete:
The usual culprit is in HD > Library > Receipts > iWork'09 trial.

That packaging doesn't look like the iWork package I have - although I have the family pack. BTW, when I installed (on both my machines), neither time was I asked for a serial number during the install process.

Hope you get it sorted out.

In order to install properly, you'll want to remove the iWork '09 folder from /Applications, the iWork folder in /Library/Application Support, the two plist files for iWork in /Library/Preferences, and anything relating to iWork or the individual apps from /Library/Receipts. Dumping all of that to the Trash, and then restarting and running the retail disc should get to you where you need to be.

JediMeister's Fix Confirmed

Greetings All,
I was having the same problem. I removed the files mentioned in JediMeister's post then was able to re-install without a problem. Thanks JM.

Quick question: Is removing files in this manner the same as what AppZapper does?
