iLife 09 to iLife 11 upgrade?

To anyone who has bought iLife 11, how did you upgrade from 09? I cannot seem to find any documentation regarding this procedure on Apple's support site.

Do you first have to uninstall 09 and then install 11 or can you do an in place upgrade? By this I mean, can you simply install iLife 11 over top of iLife 09?

I can tell you in exactly 10min when I finish installing iLife '11 I didnt bother removing iLife '09 first.
I thought it would remove it automatically or simply overwrite it.
But like I said, in exactly 10 min I can tell you more.

No need to uninstall '09.

I upgraded today from '09 to '11. Did not remove '09 prior to doing so. No issues were encountered. In fact, I feel the iLife applications are performing better than before. It's a real nice update. I mostly use Garageband and iMovie, though.
