I was trying to buy a copy of iLife today and no Apple store in my area, Los Angeles, or any other retailer has a copy in stock. I find that interesting.

Has anyone heard any rumors about iLife 09 being released in the next several weeks?

I wouldn't doubt it.

I say the day when they announce the new iPod nano and Macbook...

I think the majority of the presentation of will cover the iLife 09, probably a complete re-write of the entire suite...

iLife 08 is already one year old, I think about time they get a refresh....

I'm guessing that they push iLife to 2 year cycles to match with the OS updates, as we went straight from iLife 06 to 08. Maybe the next one will be called iLife X to match the name of OS X and Quicktime X.

I don't think it's a two year cycle...

Rumor has it that Apple will announce blu-ray support on all the macs..... this september....

If they announce that, they will also announce the new iLife 09, so all iLife software can support blu-ray authoring, along with number of new feature....

Apple Store still shows 24-hour delivery on iLife '08 -- then again it also shows 24-hour delivery on every iPod configuration.

I skipped the '08 version of iLife and I'm ready to buy, so I've got my fingers crossed for a Tuesday refresh.

My guess is iLife 09 will be released around the same time as snow leopard.

I would say with some safety that iLife '09 will be released at Macworld San Francisco 2009 on January 6. Here's an interesting list:

iLife '03: Macworld January 2003
iLife '04: Macworld January 2004
iLife '05: Macworld January 2005
iLife '06: Macworld January 2006
iLife '07: N/A - iPhone stole the show
iLife '08: Apple Special Event August 2007

If you look at that list, Macworld January 2009 appears to be the perfect time to introduce iLife '09. What else could there be announced at the keynote? Maybe a new Apple TV design? New more powerful iMacs and Mac Pros? iWork '09? We'll just have to wait another 2 months...

has anyone heard of any updated info on ilife 09? I'm sure its expected but features? Spec. iphoto as that's pretty much the only app i use of the suite.
