iLife 11 on older machines: speed?

Hey all,
I have a MacBook 2GHz Core 2 Duo. I'm thinking of taking the plunge to iLife 11 (from 9) now calendars are back in iPhoto. Anyone have experience of it on older machines? Is it quicker or slower? Is it bloated or sexy streamline?

Oh, and a vaguely related question: is the new iMovie a satisfying experience (function-wise as well as speed-wise)?

i just installed iLife 11 on my 2007 iMac and haven't noticed any performance hits. i've only really tested iPhoto so far though.
