I've been searching all around the web but, I don't find any recent rumors that agree with the other rumors, made on July, about a new iLife suite that's going to be released on August 17th :( So, when do you think Apple will release the new suite?

It could be today.

It's getting more difficult to predict what Apple will want to talk about, show off etc. and what they will just release with a homepage update / 'new' sticker in the store.

At this point, I'm going to say not in 2010. The summer is nearly over, apple's focus has squarely been on iToys and especially regarding the antenna issue and hopefully the proximity sensor. I think a lot of developers are working on iPhone fixes and not on desktop stuff.

Yes, there have been reports that Apple tend to redeploy software developers across the spectrum of their products, and with iOS endeavours being doubled with the iPad this may have put iLife & iWork on the back-burner.

But then again, the last update was in January '09, correct? Which means the last time the team were focussed on iLife and iWork must have been during 2008 (aside from maintenance releases + bug fixes)…
That seems like quite a long time to let some software stagnate… especially Apple software with a flagship role.

:( Why can't they hire more talented programmers - they are sitting on tens of billions of cash

It took apple nearly 500 days to update the Mac Pro line. They're paying more attention to iToys then the computer sector. Just my opinion but I really don't see apple releasing any iLife versions in 2010.

Maybe this calls for a quick email to Steve…
You know, asking him if it's coming in the near future.

Maybe there will be a reply along the lines of "don't worry - soon".
