Does anyone think that the reason iLife 2007 is not out yet is because apple may be introducing it on windows?

I certainly don't and the rumors suggest because of its integration of some sort or reliance on Leopard.

What makes you think they would move iLife to Windows?

I think it would be dumb for Apple to release iLife on Windows... besides Apple has terrible windows coding skills...

Well, first Windows sucks. People would be installing it on their 500MHz Celeron. Second Apple uses it as one of the cores for getting a Mac have you not seen any of the new Apple ads? The only readon we got iTunes for windows is the iPod and iTms.

Explain, please.

Well it wouldn't exactly be dumb as they could sell iLife like crazy but they'd have a lot of difficulty in porting the suite succesfully, especially because it relies on the system and integration so much, also it would give Windows users one more reason NOT to switch to Macs, iLife is definitely a selling point for Macs.

As far as crappy coding skills... well yeah, neither Quicktime, nor Software Update nor iTunes work like they should on Windows... they are resource hogs and riddled with glitches, I still use them but the apps feels unpolished and feel like quick ports. Apple are masters at creating software... but so far not so at creating WINDOWS software.

1) iLife is the reason why mac sells! its the ready to use out of the box thing that attracts new mac users .. how can they offer the same on some other platform?

2) it wont prove to be good financialy either, because it will be just a matter of time before iLife 07' Windows Edition will flood the P2P, torrent and usenet networks ... no green paper for Apple.

3) iLife will just 'complete' windows, with the vista's security, microsoft's productivity, iLife's entertainment, massive PC gaming platform ... Apple will lose some serious market share .. (well this might not be all true to be honest, there are several other factors as well, but this will do)

4) the PC in mac ads will no longer be a fat ol'd bloke wearing brown suit, and that will be quite sad.
