I bought a computer that had iLife '05 installed on it. When I upgrade to Tiger on a fresh install (reformatting the drive), will iLife be removed, and if so, how will I be able to get this software back. The only disk the computer came with was a panther backup disk. Please advise.

Thank you.

Which version of iLife did you have? If it was iLife'04 or before, that single DVD could have it on there. Otherwise you should've gotten at least 2 discs.

After you install Tiger, you would insert that disc (or discs as appropriate) and run the app to restore the additional software. Stick it in your machine now and see if that is an option on the disc you have. (In other words, make sure you have what you need before you wipe your system.)

And don't forget to back up your data before installing Tiger.

Insert your Panther restore disc.
You will see "install additional packages" or something similar.
I think it could be called "install bundled applications", but it is NOT the package which installs OS X. You can work it out.

From here, you can install iLife '05 I believe, as it has worked for me. :)
