Apple's $30 off promotion for .Mac members ends on May 26th. This most likely points to and update of iLife or .Mac or both. With iPhone software 2.0 right around the corner, the timing is perfect for an iLife update to prepare for new integration to come.

AFAIK, Apple updates iLife every 2 years, current iLife does not even have a year since its release date. You probably meant a new software update for iLife is coming.

FWIW, Wikipedia shows the releases as almost yearly. '08 was a year-and-a-half.

* iLife, introduced at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 3, 2003; $49
* iLife '04, introduced at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 6, 2004; $49; requires Jaguar
* iLife '05, introduced at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 11, 2005; $79, £55; requires Panther
* iLife '06, introduced at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 10, 2006; $79, £55; requires Panther or Tiger
* iLife '08, introduced at the Apple special summer event on August 7, 2007; $79, £55[1]; requires Tiger or Leopard

Apple had a major update of iLife every year until version 08, which came 2 years after 06. A new software update is due out very soon.
