OK, so I'm here to answer and clarify to all the Emails, Notes, PM's, DM's, and Tweet's I've been getting about updating Illumine for the iPhone 4 to support Apple's Retina Display.
For the record, I WILL be creating a new theme with the Illumine elements. I DON'T want to just port the theme and re-release it.
No, this will be a new Illumine theme with all new default icons in HD.
NOW, the question..WHEN? Well I recently came into a new position at work. This required time away from being online to learn the roles of my new position. While in transition of that new role, a newer role was offered to me. Therefore my progress for Illumine was delayed once more due to deadlines at work and learning the new process. While I'm very thankful and excited about the changes in my professional career. I also want to remain in the world of iPhone design and themes.
With all the new features and changes, also comes the task of learning the new process of creating icons for iOS 4. That means that I haven't had much time to sit down and learn what the new rules for changing icons on the Springboard are. I do have a general idea of the concept due to the new themes being developed for the iPhone 4, but it will be a challenge with the issue of masking the icons that is applied in the new OS and creating a glow for these icons. I plan to start development for this in October. Once things have calmed down for me and I'm comfortable with iPhone 4's/Winterboard's theme process.
The awesome people at MacThemes have been great in supporting my decision. By not allowing ports of Illumine to HD its assured you'll get the actual theme created for iPhone by me and not a sloppy port.
I will release updates on the progress of the theme and anything else I have going on via Twitter. Feel free to follow me @_ikon
Thank you for supporting my work. I appreciate your patience with Illumine while I get adjusted with the new changes in my professional life.
