Hello guys,
I'll probably buy an iphone 4g but I'm very confused as I'm Italian and in our contry options are completely different.
I'm already an orange customer and I was thinking about buying iphone with this provider. I've a pay as you go normal sim.
1) Yesterday I went to an orange shop in oxford street but the guy said me that they will start to sell iphones with pay as you go option by the 15th of july. Is it true or there's some shop already selling it with pay as you go?
2) If I'll buy iphone from Orange, will they replace my old sim with a microsim? And is there any monthly costs for this? (I've read of someone talking about 10$ per month as microsim fee)
3) Iphone pay as you go with orange, has it got any monthly fee?
4) It says that when you buy an iphone with pay as you go from orange you will have the chosen option with the planned calls costs plus 250MB UK mobile internet browsing each month and unlimited Wi-Fi for 12 months.
What happens for customers like me that already have pay as you go option?
5) Can I buy an unlocked iphone from apple, cut the sim, keep my old pay as you go option, configure the phone and get the 250MB UK mobile internet browsing each month and unlimited Wi-Fi for 12 months anyway?
Thank you for your help!

With the experiences i have had with Orange UK i would go direct to an Apple shop here and buy an iphone from them and just put your original sim in the phone and all should be ok.

No, the original sim doesn't fit. And probably if I just cut it, I wont be able to get free 250MB UK mobile internet browsing each month and unlimited Wi-Fi for 12 months.
Any help?
Thanks

Go into an apple store purchase your iPhone and ask for a payg ip4 sim.

Are you sure that Apple sells orange sims?
And what about free wifi and free internet broadband connection for 12 months?

On launch day in the apple shop I went to they didn't have any orange micro sims for sale. Orange are only giving out micro sims to contract customers. So you need to cut the sim.

Thank you, telco. Ok for cutting the sim, I can do it. But what about all the stuff provided with the pay as you go fee? (internet broadband and openzone 12months free access)

1. I am Orange contract customer
2. Bought iphone4
3. Cut TWO SIMs to try, none worked

4. (I think I got the answer after..) I went to O2, bought micro SIM PAYO with £10 top-up
5. For O2, u top up £10 monthly -- u get 300 texts, 500 Mb intenet, normal rate calling
6. No any network gives u unlimited internet (3G), it will be stated at the bottom line (small text) that limited to 500Mb, 750Mb or so on.

7. After I got micro SIM from O2, I think I can cut my current being used Orange SIM now. But not yet tried.
8. Be careful to cut the SIM. The SIM tray may be different from iPad. U gotta cut the left-right side carefully.
9. Micro SIM PAYG Orange won't be available very soon

So, it should be the same even for Orange. Buy an Iphone, cut the old sim, top up 10£ and get wifi and internet broadband. Right?

So.. does anyone know if Orange is replacing sims with microsims (with payasyougo) for old customers?
