Im a noob... Burning DVD's

Ok, so I want to create a DVD using iDVD on my macbook, but it tells me I need a superdrive?
I see that there are external superdrives for the macbook air, but not for the macbook?

What am I missing here?

or just buy an external dvd burner from newegg.com

alot easier to use for someone who doesnt want to rip into his computer and replace the optical drive lol
