Okay I have two computers one desktop hooked up to my 2wire 2700hg which acts as both a wireless router and a modem. The wireless only supports 802.11g though. I have a Macbook that supports 802.11n which I use around the house. The desktop is my parents by the way not mine. The desktop is a Dell
My question is: Should I first take an Ethernet cable plug it into one of the modem Ethernet ports and take the other end and plug into one of the ports in the Airport Extreme base station? Then I install the software and run in Manual mode to set up in bridge mode? I am not sure where to find bridge mode in the Apple Airport Utility. I played around with it at my local Apple store that's how I know a bit about this. I hope someone can help me out with this.
I just want this Airport Extreme base station to run 802.11n only mode. I want to create a separate network for it. Should I worry about firewalls or turn anything off in either the 2wire 2700HG modem or the Airport Extreme?
