Help. I have a imac 5k 2019 3.0ghz and had upgraded from the stock 8gb by purchasing 2 additional hyperx impact 8gb modules. This took me up to 24gb and had been working great. Anyway I thought I could do with upgrading to 32gb as I have a vmware fusion and some test servers running. Anyway I purchased the exact same memory and replaced the stock apple memory and my mac won't boot, just the black screen. I have tested the new memory alone and with the old stock memory and all is fine, however if I put all 4 modules in and won't boot. I checked on the compatibility using the site and all should be good. What do you recon is going wrong, is it my imac or memory? See link for the memory I purchased. Any help is much appreciated.

Odd. Did you try swapping the two new pairs to the opposite slots?

You could try mixing the pairs, to see if one is bad.

If each pair works, and each pair works in each set of RAM slots...that's a tuff one. I doubt it would help, but it won't hurt to do a PRAM reset.

Any chance it will boot to single-user mode or verbose mode with all 4 new sticks? If it would, it might give some clues as to where/why it is hanging.

I gave up and ordered crucial for the secomd pair, just installed and worked a treat. I believe the new hyper modules have no called xmp. For performance which when having all 4 modules installed caused the issue. But something for others thinking of purchasing hyperx modules for iMac.

thanks
