iPod touch I'm confused now with apps

I've been checking posts about 2.0 and the apps store and have downloaded a few apps my self but they won't go on my iPod Touch.

Do I have to wait for 2.0 to come out first before I can put apps on my iPod?

Yes, you have to wait for 2.0 to be released for your Touch (through itunes 7.7).

How is everyone seeing the App store in iTunes 7.7? I don't see it.

Go to the iTunes Store. Do a search for Pandora (just one example). In the results, click on the Pandora Application. Then you can follow the breadcrumb trail at the top of the window to get to the full Application Store.

I never saw a direct link to it on the main iTunes Store.

this is what i had to do to see it, after you download and instal iTunes 7.7 go to Edit>Preferences. you will see a bunch of check boxes and one will say Application and it will be unchecked, check it and click ok. now go to the Applications tab to the left and at that screen look in the bottom right corner and click get more apps.
