I have searched through the little bit of guides they give you in the box my iPod came in, and I have googled ((without any luck)) on how to put pictures on to my iPod 5g. Can someone please explain how??

It will be in the iPod preference pane in iTunes. Just select which iPhoto albums you want to transfer. iTunes will compress them down to the appropriate size/file size and transfer them over. You can also elect to transfer full size copies of the photos to the iPod at the same time so you have a back up. These big photos go into a separate folder on the HDD that you access when you plug it in in disk mode.
