I'm on the 13" MacBook right now. 05/2009 release. I'm desperate for a bigger screen for sure and want a 17" MacBook Pro but don't want to pull the trigger. Should I wait for new version? When will that be?

Should I just buy the latest version?

13" is not enough viewing space anymore!

Just wait. It’s not like you have an unusable machine. Or you could get a cheap external monitor (to tide you over?).

Thanks guys - do the prices of the models now go down in price as the new ones come in? How does that work?

An external monitor would be nice - but I compute on the go and when at home I don't have much space for a monitor.

Any experience with MacMall? Are they really any more affordable?

Apple doesn't sell older model computers through their online store, but you can usually find the older model computers through other sites (macmall, powermax, amazon, etc).

Why another laptop?
Why not that 27" iMac with the 2.8ghz i7?

I thought they put old models in the clearance section on the online store. they usually don't stay there very long though, am I wrong?

Tough it out with the rest of us. If I were a betting man, I'd say they get updated two weeks or more after the iPad release.

Yeah, you would probably be better off waiting, unless of course money is no object and you just want one now! (would be nice wouldn't it! haha)
