I'm Having Some Problems With Software Update!

I saw the headline on MR's first page and decided to get Safari 4.0.2. So I fired up SU and it found Safari 4.0.3. I clicked the Install button and then SU stopped responding and I did a force quit. I tried again, but the icon bounces on the dock and then just sits there with the little light out, like an unused app.

I repaired permissions and cleaned some caches with MainMenu.

I'm running 10.5.7 on a mid-'07 2.0 GHz mini, if it makes a difference.

What is going on?

!!!UPDATE!!!

The update ran swimmingly on my 733 MHz PowerMac running 10.4.11.

Now on the mini, every single app is acting like SU! I can't launch or force quit anything! And my Apple Remote won't work either.
