I wanted to know how far away from my desk my keyboard and trackpad would still work. So, I went to my bedroom which is 36 feet away from my desk and closed the door, I was amazed to see that everything I typed was on the screen and the trackpad worked as well. Thumbs up Steve!

I'm amazed how long the battery life is...can't even remember when I changed them..:D

Those Apple branded batteries have 1900 mAh capacity. There are higher capacity ones on the market, I picked up some Energizer 2450mAh rechargeable from my local super market, it should last 25% longer.

They have a lower capacity, but they're rebranded Eneloops. Eneloop batteries discharge much slower in low or no usage, meaning the battery life is probably better with those, lower amperage batteries.

Or do you use the trackpad 24 hours a day? ;)

I bought both for my MacMini - great bits of kit - Agreed about the great battery life*

*Using Apple's Rechargeable batteries - my first Trackpad had poor battery life (1 week), but the exchanged unit has been great. Because of my battery issues I kept a log.....

New batteries and Trackpad from Apple Saturday 26th March

26th March Keyboard 100% Trackpad 58%

27th April Keyboard 55% Trackpad 43%

16th July Keyboard 55% Trackpad 15% - changed replacement - 63%

16th July 15:00 KB 55% TP 60%

10th August Keyboard 55% (Still!) Trackpad 38%

Based on the figures I could probably live with Keyboard battery changes every 6 months and Trackpad every 1 - 2 months
